Warum? Unser zugeheirateter Basskollege Mattias Plessl ist gebürtig aus dieser Gegend und dort , im doppelten Sinne dieses Wortes, „groß“ geworden.<br />
So kam was kommen musste, er und die Winzergemeinschaft von Röschitz luden uns zu ihrem Winzerfest ein. So starteten wir am 1. September Mittag weg und fuhren Richtung Niederösterreich.<br />
Das Quartier bezogen wir im Stadthotel in Eggenburg. Weil das Wetter sehr unsicher war, fand das Winzerfest nicht wie geplant im Steinbruch statt sondern in einem großen Stadl, (Halle) in Röschitz.<br />
Wir spielten ein Unterhaltungskonzert, zwischendurch gab es Ansprachen und die dortige Politprominenz samt der Winzerkönigin gaben sich ein Stelldichein. Die Volkstanzgruppe aus Gföhl bemühte sich gekonnt um Aufmerksamkeit und sogar unseren Jungmusikern juckte es in den Beinen. Der Abend schritt voran, der Wein tat das “Sein“ und die „Xelchten“ und Andere nahmen die Instrumente und „geigten“ auf. Es dauerte nicht lang und die Leute standen auf den Bänken. Eine Bierbank gab dabei den Geist auf, diese Kampftrophäe kann man (noch) bewundern! Irgendwann nach Mitternacht wurde ins Quartier gefahren, was aber nicht hieß, dass es in Eggenburg dann ruhig war, eher das Gegenteil. Böse Zungen behaupteten, dass etliche Bürger dieser Provinzstadt in dieser Nacht nicht schlafen konnten (warum eigentlich nicht?)<br />
Samstag 2. September: Fast alle Teilnehmer haben bis um 10 Uhr das Frühstück „hinuntergebracht“ denn um 11Uhr hieß es, gehen wir in Eggenburg zu einer alten Getreidemühle, heute Ölmühle.Georg Gilli, der Besitzer der Anlagen, führte uns persönlich durch die Schaumühle, wo nun verschiedene Öle biologisch kalt gepresst werden. Die Produkte nennt er  „aÖ“ und Georg Gilli möchte mit seinen Ölen die Unverwechselbarkeit seiner Heimat schmeckbar machen.<br />
Am frühen Nachmittag dann ging es zu den Weinbauern in Röschitz, die ihre Höfe und Keller zum Winzerfest geöffnet hatten. Es ging uns allen sehr, sehr, sehr gut, nur der Überblick der verschiedenen Verkostungen ging uns dann irgendwann verloren. Jedenfalls zum Abendessen in der „Kramerei“ waren alle wieder da , und dieses Abendbrot zog sich auch wieder hin bis...?<br />
Sonntag früh regnete es , wir unternahmen nichts mehr und gegen Mittag ging es wieder heimwärts mit mehr oder minder schläfriger Gesellschaft.<br />
